Basic SEO on Your Website

Edit your page Search Engine Optimization (SEO) fields to help search engines find and display your Rentsync website.

SEO Title

The SEO Title is the title that displays on the tab in your web browser. It is also the main headline that will display on search engine results pages (SERPs).

Your SEO Title should be no more than 60 characters, and should include as many of your most important keywords as possible, as search engines use this to determine what your website is about. However, you should not simply stuff keywords into your SEO Title, it should read as a logical sentence that introduces your website content.

Note: Your website's Site Title (set under Website Settings) is automatically appended to the end of every page's SEO Title. If your site name is long, this reduces the characters available for your page-specific title. You can shorten your Site Title under Websites > Website List > [your website] > Website Settings > General if needed.

Use the progress bar below the SEO Title field to see how effective your title is likely to be.

Meta Description

The Meta Description allows you to provide additional information about each page on your website. This description displays on SERPs below the SEO Title.

A good Meta Description should be no more than 155 characters. It should provide useful information about that page on your website, and be inviting enough to encourage people to click when viewing the entry on a SERP. Try including a call to action within the description to let people know what they can do by visiting the page.

Use the progress bar below the Meta Description field to see how effective your description is likely to be.

Google Preview

Below the Meta Description field, a live preview shows how your SEO Title and Meta Description will appear on Google before you save your changes. Use this to confirm your title and description look the way you expect.

Tip: Once you make a change to your SEO Title or Meta Description, it will immediately be part of the code of your website. However, it may take some time for search engines to pick up and display this information on SERPs.
