Understanding Property and Unit Status
A property's status and its units' status work together. Here's how they interact and what each setting does.
Property status
A property has three possible statuses. You can change a property's status in the Publishing section of the Property Details page.
Enabled The property is active. It will display on your Rentsync website (if applicable) and can be syndicated to rental listing sites when toggled on in Listing Management.
Hidden The property is hidden from your website and from Listing Management. It acts as Disabled for syndication purposes — it will not appear on rental listing sites. However, anyone with the direct URL to that property page on your website can still access it. This is useful for properties that are not yet ready to advertise publicly but where you want to preview the page.
Disabled The property is inactive. It will not display on your website and cannot be syndicated. The property remains in your account for future use.
Note: The only place in Rentsync where you can change a property's status is the Publishing section of the Property Details page.
Unit status and availability
Each unit has two independent settings that work together:
Status: Enabled / Disabled This controls whether the unit is included in your data feed at all. A Disabled unit is completely removed from the feed and will not appear on any rental listing site or website. An Enabled unit is included in the feed.
Availability This tells prospects and rental listing sites whether the unit is available to rent. There are four options:
- Available Now: the unit is available immediately
- Available On [date]: the unit will be available on a future date
- Unavailable: the unit is not available (it will still appear in the feed as unavailable)
- Waiting List: applicable to Rentsync website clients only; this status does not impact rental listing sites
How property and unit status work together
Think of the property as the building and the unit as a suite inside it. A unit cannot exist without a property.

Exclude Units from a specific channel
You can also hide individual units from your website or from rental listing sites without fully disabling them. Look for the visibility icons on the unit row in your Units list, or use Quick Update to bulk-edit unit visibility. See Quick Update: Edit a Unit Status for more detail.
