How to Add a Virtual Tour or Video to Your Listing
A quick-start guide for adding Matterport, Gryd, iGuide, YouTube, Vimeo, or any other hosted tour or video to your property.
Virtual tours and video walkthroughs must be added at the property level first, then assigned to individual units. They cannot be uploaded directly, they must be hosted on an external platform and added to Rentsync using an embed code.
What you need before you start
- A virtual tour or video that is already hosted on a platform such as Matterport, Gryd, YouTube, or Vimeo
- The embed code for that tour or video (see What is an Embed Code? if you need help finding it)
Not sure what an embed code looks like? It is a short snippet of HTML code that starts with <iframe. Your virtual tour or video provider will have an option to "share" or "embed" the tour or video, which is where you'll find it.
Step 1: Add the tour or video to your property
- Click "Properties" from the main menu
- Click "Property List" from the sub menu
- Select the property you want to add the Virtual Tour or Video to
- Click "Property Media" from the sub menu on the left
- For a virtual tour, open the Virtual Tour panel. For a video, open the Videos panel.
- Click "Add Virtual Tour" or "Add Video"
- Give it a name (this is how you will identify it when assigning it to a unit
- use something descriptive like "Studio Virtual Tour" or "Building Tour")
- The Description is optional
- Paste your embed code in the corresponding field
- Click the "Add" button to save
Step 2: Assign the Tour or Video to a unit
- In the navigation bar on the left, click "Units" under the same property
- Select the unit you want to assign the tour to
- Click "Unit Media" from the sub menu
- Open the Virtual Tour or Videos section
- Use the dropdown to select the tour or video you added at the property level (it will appear by the name you gave it)
- Click "Save"
Repeat Step 2 for each unit you want to assign the tour to.
Tip: YouTube is the recommended hosting platform for videos. If you want to avoid ads playing before your video, Vimeo is a good alternative.
Note: Each unit can be assigned one virtual tour. If you have multiple tour types, add each one at the property level and assign the appropriate one to each unit. Most rental listing sites only display one virtual tour per unit. All Virtual tours will display at the property level if the Rental Listing Site supports Virtual Tours. If a tour is not displaying, check that the tour provider's embed code is supported. Contact support@rentsync.com if you need help.
Warning:The tour must remain hosted on the external platform (Matterport, Gryd, YouTube, etc.) for it to display. If the tour is removed or set to private on that platform, it will no longer work in Rentsync.
